La vraie définition botanique
De la famille des <strong><em>Rosaceae</em></strong>, l'<strong>amandier</strong> est un <strong><em>Prunus</em></strong> comme le cerisier, l'abricotier, le laurier-cerise, etc. Plus précisément, il se dévoile sous son identité comme étant <em><strong>Prunus dulcis</strong></em>. Fleurissant vers la fin de l'hiver et le tout début du printemps, le pollen des fleurs utilise deux "transporteurs" : le vent ou les insectes à qui il fournit un nectar particulièrement recherché. La fleur de l'amandier produit un <strong>fruit charnu à noyau</strong>, ce dernier contenant la <strong>graine</strong> que nous mangeons et appelée <strong>amande</strong>. La partie charnue du fruit sèche à maturité et le noyau s'ouvre laissant apparaître l'amande.
